Series 2—— Circle
For this piece of work, my inspiration came from “TaiChi”, an ancient while great oriental philosophy . Through integration of new media and body language, “cycle”—one of the elementary concepts in TaiChi—has been visualized.it not only conveys my recognition to the concept “cycle”but arouses thinking among visitors.

Concept
Cycle is a mode of movement, going round and round without stop, while that doesn’t mean nothing would be changed in the process , or in other words, invariable. Everything in the universe moves in cycles. And birth or death would be repeated as what they were for countless times in this process of cycle. However, some subtle differences would occur in these repetitions. The artist meant to copy the process of cycle. With involvement of visitors, the “cycle” installation would reproduce the philosophical mode of movement.
Creation Process
The artistic means I applied to the piece include body language, installation, video and sound. On the scene, the dancer will interact with the installation with her dancing. Interaction between them represent any forms of cycle, showing us how people get involved in Cycle and how. Moves the dancer makes in the inductive zone will form a mapping with interface of the installation, so the path of her moves will be recorded and represented by the installation. The naturally relaxed body movements dancer performs will show us a state of unconsciousness, which is much more closer to the spiritual essence of the work. Meanwhile, what happens on the interface of installation will be captured by a camera and input into a computer to be processed in Graphic Software. Then images generated in computer will be combined with sound and projected on LED screens. All the elements or means I applied to the piece of work are indispensable. They work with each other, reach a balance and finally visualize the abstract concept that I would like to present. Unconsciously, they themselves set up a hook-ups cycle system.
